Our staff have been through interviews and they are carefully evaluated and processed through a mandatory background check which includes criminal and driving information. They are selected based on their competence, work history, education and abilities. Most importantly, we choose people who have a sincere desire to "help others" learn and live the most productive, content and independent life possible.
All employees undergo a rigorous evaluation and training process that includes but is not limited to the following: local and statewide criminal history checks, National Child Abuse National Registry, WDOT, Department of Family Services and in some cases FBI background processing.

CERTIFICATION INCLUDES AN INITIAL 40 HOURS OF:
- CPR/1ST AID TRAINING
- CRISIS PREVENTION INTERVENTION
- MEDICATION MONITORING TRAINING
- EFFECTIVE TEACHING TECHNIQUES
- EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION
- ASSET JOB TRAINING
- PROTECTION AND ADVOCACY TRAINING
- BASIC HEALTH AND SAFETY TRAINING
- PROGRAM/DOCUMENTATION/REPORT WRITING
- AN ADDITIONAL 24 HOURS OF TRAINING IS REQUIRED PER YEAR FOR EACH EMPLOYEE
